CHOREOGRAPHER’S NOTE
I would like to invite the audience to consider how to blend my respective dance and calligraphy into our show. In her theory, calligraphy is combined with not only visible lines and dots but also elements such as ‘trajectory’ and ‘brush pressure’ are blended and created.
Dance has the possibility to express its invisible world with movement analysis.
“Skilled in calligraphy and contemporary dance, Japanese performer Chiharu Kuronuma not only demonstrates but fuses her twin talents.”
– The Scotsman – (Kelly Apter)
“Quick show this morning just as it was nearby to our apartment. Gearing up for my visit to Japan later this year with a very interesting and calming 45 minutes of dance and calligraphy.”
– BBC Radio – (Jason Rosam)
“Beautifully choreographed.”
– The Mumble Theatre – (Raymond Speedie)
